Women Build Week
Habitat for Humanity’s International Women Build Week is an annual weeklong event created by Habitat’s Women Build program. The 2023 event was March 6-10, with International Women’s Day falling midweek.
Since 1991, Women Build volunteers from all walks of life have come together to build stronger, safer communities.
Women Build is also a terrific way to involve your friends and family of all ages in crucial work with a lasting impact. Women helping women sends a positive and powerful message. You can also come alone, and make new friends. The atmosphere is collaborative and friendly.
About Women Build.
Women Build events provide the opportunity for women to take a proactive step in serving their communities.
Any woman who wants to learn how to build and construct a home is invited to join us. No experience is necessary. Volunteers work under the guidance of construction professionals, and also alongside other volunteers and future Habitat homeowners. Whether you are learning new skills or simply adding a few to your tool belt, this is a rewarding experience for all involved, and improves the community that you share.

This year's project is Antonia's house, a four-bedroom two-story house in Holyoke for single mother Antonia and her four children. This build is also Greater Springfield Habitat's first-ever insulated concrete form build. To learn more about how this project is different from the traditional method, visit Behind the Build.
This year, women joined us from Springfield's Roger L Putnam Vocational Technical Academy and Holyoke’s William J Dean Vocational Technical High School, Green Thumb Industries/RISE, and Restoration City Church.
