Thank you, Alexander and Catherine Shapleigh, for donating your 1996 navy blue Volvo 850 sedan to Habitat for Humanity - Cars for Homes! The Holyoke couple said they are longtime fans of Habitat for Humanity and the #CarsForHomes program was recommended to them. They further added the donation process was "fabulous, easy, and well done."

"The pickup was wonderful. Everyone was very patient and nobody objected to our 2008 Obama sticker," Catherine said. "It was just great. We were very happy to make the donation."

2024.05.13 Thank you for your donation, Todd Michon!.png

Thank you, Todd Michon, for your donation of a white 2006 Chrysler Pacifica. Todd had previously donated to Habitat for Humanity - Cars for Homes and again wanted to give to a well-known charitable organization.

ABOUT CARS FOR HOMES.

Habitat for Humanity accepts nearly all vehicles, including cars, trucks, motorcycles, recreational vehicles, boats, snowmobiles, farm equipment, and construction equipment.

To donate a car or truck, click here. To donate another kind of vehicle, call 877-277-4344. You will need the vehicle's Certificate of Title.

After a vehicle is picked up, it's sold on behalf of Habitat through a national network of fully licensed, insured, and bonded auctions and direct buyers. Roughly half of vehicles are sold to licensed dealers at wholesale auctions and are reused for transportation. The remaining half are brought to auto salvage yards where the reusable parts, batteries, tires, and fluids are removed. Vehicles that can be recycled are crushed, shredded, and recycled into steel.

On a monthly basis, 78-86% of revenue from vehicles donated to Habitat through Cars for Homes support local Habitat affiliates. Based on a donor’s zip code or personal request, the donation is transferred to a particular affiliate.
