Construction Updates!

Other than the suprising snowstorm in October, we have been blessed with a very mild winter. While we have had some very cold days in the past few months, most of our Saturday work days have been marked by sunshine and warmer (than usual!) temperatures. This is fabulous news here at Habitat, as it has allowed us to continue working on all of our projects.
13&15 Quincy St., Springfield-
It started as a Blitz Build in May, where over the course of one week, we went from just a foundation, to a completely finished exterior. We slowed down to our usual pace after that (once a week work days), and are now excited as we enter into the finishing stages of the project. Last Saturday, 1/28/12, we worked on priming on 13 Quincy St. and anticipate starting priming on the other side of the duplex this coming Saturday.
44 Dexter St. Springfield-
The roof is on, windows and doors are in, and now we are continuing to work on siding. We expect to be doing siding as well as completing the front porch for the next two weekends. However, whats more exciting, is that we have selected a partner family for this project! Nikodeem and Jocelyn and their three children are the future family for this new home, and we are excited to be welcoming them in to the Habitat family.
354 Chestnut St., Holyoke-
Volunteers from the Holyoke Circle of Faith (local faith communities that come together to donate funds and volunteers to a specific project) have been hard at work! Organizing work days and materials, they have been involved in all stages of the project. Currently, volunteers are working on siding on the house.
We anticipate working on all of these projects for the next several months, and invite you to join us!
