Typical day on the work site:

8am-8:30- Construction Site Supervisor arrives on site

(A site supervisor is a volunteer who has been pre-approved by our construction manager to lead the day. These volunteers are skilled in construction and have met with our construction manager in advance to review what needs to be accomplished the day that they are volunteering. The site supervisor is able to lead and teach the volunteers throughout the course of the day.)

8:30am General volunteers begin to arrive

 8:30am- approximately 8:45am- Volunteers sign in, fill out safety waivers (if not already completed) and make name tags. Site supervisor gathers everyone together to give an overview of the day and direct the days tasks.

 8:45-12pm- Work on task for the day (task varies dependant on what stage of construction the project is on)

12pm-12:30-Break for lunch (please plan to provide your own)

 12:30-3:30- Work/Clean up/pack up for the day 

Important notes: 

* You must register to volunteer either on Volunteer UP or by contacting Nicole at williamson at habitatspringfield.org

*All volunteers working on the construction site must be over the age of 16.  Volunteers aged 16&17 must be accompanied by an adult over the age of 25 for the entire day.

*Volunteers must wear sneakers or work boots as well as clothes that you don't mind getting dirty.
