Samuel Holt and Lori-Summers Holt currently reside in Springfield in an apartment building that was built in the 1920s. Most, if not all of the windows require plastic coverings in the colder months and in the summer months most of them don’t have screens to let the air circulate without worry of insects. They have no control over their heat and there is no green space to enjoy the outdoors.
The Holts have two adult daughters who are grown and live on their own. Recently, they adopted a two year old son, D’artagnon and they regularly provide a home for foster children. The Holts are loving and warm. They are hard-working and dedicated to making their home a safe and loving environment for all who are part of their family.
We are thrilled that the Holts are our newest family to join a community of Habitat families living onQuincy Street. Every Friday and Saturday from now until their new home is finished the Holts will be contributing their “sweat equity” or manual labor toward the completion of their home. Join us and volunteer along side The Holts!
